Thursday, June 23rd - Pizza?

Hello world! (Or the 2-3 people who may have stumbled over my lame blog)

As you can see, I did not make dinner tonight.  I was going to make this awesome feast, with chicken breasts and crushed goldfish as bread crumbs.... But alas, my parents worked late and I went over to Zach's house to have pizza with his family.  It was actually so much fun! We played Clue, which I thought was cool because my family doesn't have game night.  Anyway, I don't know who reads this but...I'm really happy with Zach. This is the first time I feel like I'm in a real relationship.  I just feel so lucky, and excited for the future.  Anyways...i'm sure you've had enough of my personal blabber.  There is a busy week ahead so I don't know when I'll be able to cook, but I have a long list of recipes I'm super excited to try!

Until next time!

Wednesday June 22nd - Penne Pasta and Marinara Sauce

Hello again!  Well I woke up late today, so I ran out of time to look up a recipe and go buy ingredients.  So I threw something easy together.  Dad always taught me how to make spaghetti and sauce so this took less than 20 minutes.
If I had more time or interest I could have garnished it or added peppers.  I forgot to add ham slices, those usually make it so good!

Tuesday June 21 - "Cheeseburger and Fries Casserole"

Ahh...the last day of school and first day of Summer, how bitter sweet.

Well I flipped open my Better Homes CookBook (15th edition) and found this recipe.  I thought it would be perfect for my first dinner, since I LOVE burgers.

The recipe wasn't too hard and it ended up tasting much better than expected.  The onion and pepper definitely add a lovely kick to a mostly drab ground beef mix.

I've added some pics.  If you have any questions about the recipe, process, or about me, definitely don't be afraid to ask!!

First Entry

Hello Blog World!

My name is Sam!  This my blog about how I learned to cook.  My mother thought it would be funny to give me a cookbook and ask me to make dinner EVERY night for the entire summer.  I know how to pop popcorn and only recently learned how to boil water.  So...it will be an interesting adventure.  I will share recipes, post pictures of my creations, and maybe even learn a little about life while I am at it.

I hope you enjoy!

Sam (Soon to be chef...)
